The lottery enables staff directly employed by the Trust to buy a chance to enter a draw and win a cash prize at the same time as increasing money accessible to the charity. All proceeds from the lottery will be used exclusively for staff and service user facilities.
Staff may purchase up to 10 chances in the lottery, each at a cost of £1 per month and draws are made monthly. Money collected each month from the lottery will go towards the prize money, while the rest will go to the Trust’s charitable funds.
First prize is £500 but five other prizes are also on offer between £250 and £50. The chances of winning depend on the number of entries bought, but there is a much greater chance of winning the staff lottery than the National Lottery, which has odds of 1 in 30,000,000!
While staff are given the chance to win a few extra pounds each month, the charitable funds wins every time. So even if a staff’s number isn’t drawn they can rest assured that the money from each entry is being put to excellent use and helping people live life to the full.
Ian Black, Trust chairman said:
“This is a great way to help boost the number of ‘extras’ we can offer people who use our services such as days out, special lunches for carers or equipment for service user football teams.”
