Serving up success

Date:

Since the highly successful partnership of Catering Plus running the restaurant at Castleford and Normanton District Hospital (CNDH), the Trust was delighted to welcome Catering Plus to the Fieldhead site in Wakefield too.

Offering a wide range of hot and cold, freshly made food from locally sourced ingredients, Catering Plus, a social enterprise, is committed to serving up healthy choices. Both the dining room and the Oasis Café have been popular since Catering Plus launched at Fieldhead and the catering staff have been given positive feedback from customers.

The ‘ring and collect’ service which enables customers to call ahead and order food for a group of people, has been particularly successful, along with the door to door delivery service, which volunteers from the wards have been helping out with.

General manager of Catering Plus, Sue Chambers said, ‘Our customers have been impressed with the healthy and good value choices on offer and return to the dining room regularly for their lunch time meal. The Oasis Café has been just as popular with people popping over for light snacks including sandwiches, cakes, crisps and cheese on toast! The extended opening hours at the café seem to have gone down well too, and we are happy to be able to offer a more flexible service.’

Fieldhead dining room is open Monday – Friday 8.30am – 2.00pm. The Oasis Café is open Monday – Friday, 10.30am – 5.00pm and Saturday & Sunday, 10.30am – 3.00pm. If you would like to let the Catering Staff know what you think of the service or would like to see something in particular on the menu, contact Sue Chambers on 07931 588147.
