Smokers across Sheffield are being urged to take the first step towards quitting smoking for good on national No Smoking Day on Wednesday 11 March.

Yorkshire Smokefree, which is run by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust offers free stop smoking advice and support to people across the region. They are calling on smokers to get in touch and make 11 March the day you quit for good.

The team will also be visiting the Archer Project at Sheffield Cathedral to provide advice to homeless men and women in area.

The day will also see the winners of Yorkshire Smokefree’s prize draw announced, with two lucky winners who set quit dates in the run up to No Smoking Day receiving signed merchandise from Sheffield Wednesday Football Club and Sheffield Steelers Ice Hockey Team.

Claire Holden, service manager at Yorkshire Smokefree Sheffield said, “We’re really looking forward to getting on to the streets and spreading the word about No Smoking Day.

“With support from our expert NHS advisors you’re four times more likely to quit successfully and best of all our support is free!”
