No more if’s or butts on No Smoking Day in Wakefield

Date:

Smokers across Wakefield are being urged to take the first step towards quitting smoking for good on national No Smoking Day on Wednesday 11 March.

Yorkshire Smokefree, which is run by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust offers free stop smoking advice and support to people across the region. They are calling on smokers to get in touch and make 11 March the day you quit for good.

To mark the day expert advisors from Yorkshire Smokefree are visiting hospitals in the Wakefield area to talk about the range of free stop smoking advice on offer.

The team will be at Pinderfields Hospital and Pontefract Hospital from 10am to 2pm to explain how they can help you quit, your way.

Sandra Wilson, service manager at Yorkshire Smokefree Sheffield said, “We’re really looking forward to speaking to lots of people, spreading the word about No Smoking Day and encouraging people to pledge to make it their day to quit.

“With support from our expert NHS advisors you’re four times more likely to quit successfully and best of all our support is free!”

Yorkshire Smokefree offers smokers the choice of telephone, face to face and online advice using a new online support programme. Smokers can now access expert support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
