Trust selected as top place to work

Date:

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is celebrating after being selected as one of the top places to work, according to the Health Service Journal (HSJ).

The Trust has been shortlisted in the HSJ ‘Best Places to Work’ list, which celebrates the 120 best public sector healthcare employers. The list recognises organisations across the acute, community and mental health sectors which have proven that they know what it takes to create environments where people love to come to work.

To compile the list, HSJ worked with an independent company to analyse NHS staff survey findings across seven core areas: leadership and planning; corporate culture and communications; role satisfaction; work environment; relationship with supervisor; training; development and resources; employee engagement and satisfaction.

Steven Michael OBE, chief executive of the Trust, said: “I’m extremely proud that the Trust has been chosen as one of the top 120 best places to work. It’s really important that our staff are happy and feel capable to undertake their role as this enables them to provide the best possible care for local people.

“This year we have introduced a number of initiatives to embed the Trust’s values with our workforce. Ensuring that staff live the Trust’s values creates a common sense of purpose for all staff and unites our services.

“One of our initiatives has included our wellbeing at work review which has encouraged staff to give their feedback on their day to day working lives – with an aim to help continually improve their wellbeing and supporting staff in their roles.

“Also, as a part of our staff recognition scheme – Values into Excellence, earlier this month, we celebrated best practice amongst teams who have lived the Trust values.”
