NHS Trust appoints non-executive directors

A new non-executive director has joined the board of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The Trust provides a range of community, mental health and learning disability services to people in Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield as well as specialist forensic (medium secure) services to the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber.

Chris Jones, a qualified accountant, took up his role as non-executive director at the Trust on 1st August. Chris has enjoyed a successful career in a number of senior management roles in further education for nearly two decades. He was previously the Principal of Calderdale College between 2008-2014 and has worked in both the private and healthcare sectors.

Chris is a Trustee of the Children’s Food Trust and currently works as an independent consultant in the education and skills sector.

Chris said: “I am delighted to be appointed as a non-executive director and to be given the chance to make a contribution to the important services the Trust provides.”

Another non-executive director will be joining the Trust board over the coming weeks – Rachel Court, who has extensive experience in HR and customer service will begin her role from September.

Trust chairman Ian Black said: “I am pleased Chris has joined our Trust board where he will be able to share his valuable wealth of experience and skills to help implement the Trust’s long term plans.

“I also look forward to welcoming Rachel over the coming weeks and I have no doubt that along with Chris they will strengthen our board to continue improving services for local people.”
