NHS Trust appointments Non-executive directors
A new non-executive director has joined the board of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.
The Trust provides a range of community, mental health and learning disability services to people in Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield as well as specialist forensic (medium secure) services to the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber.
Charlotte Dyson, a trained marketer by profession, took up her role as non-executive director at the Trust on 1st May. Charlotte has enjoyed a successful career in various marketing roles with food giant Nestle for almost 15 years. She has also previously worked as a non-executive director in two organisations, at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and soft drinks manufacturer Calpyso.
Charlotte is also a lay member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, as an OSCE examiner, and a lay member of the ACCEA Yorkshire and Humber sub-committee.
Charlotte said: “I am delighted to be appointed as a non-executive director at the Trust and proud to be part of an organisation that works really hard to help local people.
“I have recently become more aware of mental health issues after someone close to me was diagnosed with dementia. Mental health affects 1 in 4 of us – it is really important to raise awareness of this issue and being a part of the Trust will help me do this.”
A further two non-executive directors will be joining the Trust board over the coming months – Chris Jones, former Principal of Calderdale College will take up the role on 1st August and Rachel Court, who has extensive experience in HR and customer service, joins the Trust from September.
