Trust scoops third award for creative initiative

Date:

A creative initiative run by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has scooped its third national award for its commitment to delivering a positive patient experience.

Creative Minds won the ‘Best Collaborative Arts Project’ award at the Building Better Healthcare Awards 2015, which took place at a ceremony in London on Wednesday 4 November.

Launched in November 2011, Creative Minds uses creative and educational activities to promote self-management of health and wellbeing, improve confidence and boost self-esteem. The initiative has delivered more than 150 creative projects, which has benefited over 20,000 people.

The Building Better Healthcare Awards recognises innovation in architecture, people, products and services which are helping to transform patient care across the UK. This year’s competition was bigger than ever before, with 25 awards across six categories.

The award win is the latest recognition for the initiative, following previous wins at the Patient Experience Network National Awards (PENNA) in March 2015, and the 2014 Health Service Journal (HSJ) awards.

Phil Walters, lead for Creative Minds at the Trust said: “We are so proud of the success of the project; Creative Minds has had a positive impact on the health and wellbeing of so many people in our local communities. To be recognised at a national awards ceremony for the third time is a great achievement for the Trust.”
