Get involved

As a healthcare professional you are asked to show your commitment to identifying and reviewing patients who have dementia and are on antipsychotics.

It is hoped through clinical reviews we can help people understand why antipsychotics have been prescribed.

It is hoped that by working in partnership with the person with dementia, their family and carers and their medical colleagues in psychiatry we can establish whether or not the use of antipsychotics is inappropriate.

Partnership working can also establish whether or not it is safe to begin the process of discontinuing their use and to establish that access to alternative interventions can be secured.
