Adult learning disabilities specialist health services

We provide support for people with a learning disability living in Barnsley.

Our team includes:

  • psychologists
  • psychiatrists
  • nurses
  • occupational therapists
  • physiotherapists
  • speech and language therapists
  • support staff

The team works with service users and their carers:

  • to assess their individual skills and needs
  • to plan their support and care
  • to support their physical and mental health needs

The service supports people who have a diagnosed learning disability, which means they have been assessed by a psychologist as having an IQ below 70 and also have difficulties in social situations.
