Day services (Garden street)

Changes to the service in September 2016

Garden Street Centre, Back Garden Street, Wakefield, WF1 1DX will be officially closing on Tuesday 13 September 2016 and therefore Day Treatment Services will temporarily re-locate to  APTS, Fieldhead Hospital, contact number 01924 327560, fax:  01924 328661 until its permanent move to the Wakefield HUB, Drury Lane, Wakefield under the Trust transformation programme.

What the service is all about

The day service is provided to individuals aged 18 to 65 with mental health conditions who are referred by GPs and other health and social care professionals. Individuals referred to the team require the input of specialist mental health services or signposting to other services.

The service provides a wide range of treatments for adults experiencing mental ill health, offering cognitive behaviour therapy, counselling and occupational therapy. Treatment is predominantly provided through group, or a combination of group and individual work.

The service is age sensitive and provides safe transitions for people leaving child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) and entering older peoples services.

Individuals eligible to receive our services will be resident in the Wakefield area or registered with a Wakefield GP.
