Dementia matron

The role of a dementia matron is to provide support to people living with cognitive impairment or dementia on Ward 19 on Priestley unit at Dewsbury and District Hospital, and at Huddersfield Royal Infirmary and Calderdale Royal Hospital. We also support family, friends, carers, and staff providing the care.

This is to ensure high quality care for people with dementia while they are in hospital and to ensure timely and effective communication with other services.

We also provide support with assessment and assistance in care planning and risk management.
