Wakefield health trainers host New Year New You event

Date:

NHS health trainers in Wakefield are inviting local people to come along to a special New Year New You promotion event on 22nd January at the Library in South Elmsall to find out how easy it is to make simple changes that can improve their health and wellbeing in 2013.

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust provides health trainers to offer support, motivation and encouragement to anyone in the local area that would like to make healthy changes to their lifestyle.

Each health trainer is a qualified specialist that works with people on a one-to-one basis and can help with a variety of issues including weight management, healthy eating, stress, stopping smoking, physical activity and alcohol. They help individuals to set realistic personal goals and find other services that may benefit and help them to maintain the lifelong changes they’ve made so far.

Amanda, a health trainer with the team said, “I am really looking forward to being part of this promotion event as it will be a great opportunity to speak to local people about ways they would like to improve their health in 2013 and offer advice about how they could do this. Our team work with individuals on a one to one basis to help them achieve goals that can make a big difference to their lives.”

Amanda and her colleague Linda will be at the library in South Elmsall from 10am – 12pm on Tuesday 22nd January.
