Gardening for health, led by Home Valley Gardening Network, aims to create enjoyable outdoor allotment activities that help people to lead happy and healthy lives.
The sessions take place each week at two different sites in Kirklees – Wooldale and New Mill and support those with mental health problems by offering year-round growing, cooking and creative activities.
Tasks for those taking part include growing, digging, sowing, planting and harvesting among other things. Wooldale is an accessible site with high rise beds and smooth pathways to make sure people with mobility problems are able to take part in the activities.
