The ‘your passport to theatre’ project offers individuals who use Trust services the opportunity to visit and watch performances at the Theatre Royal in Wakefield, up to four times a year. Before the performance, individuals are invited to a pre-show reception so they can meet members of the theatre and others who are part of the project. They will also be invited to participate in drama workshops.
By inviting people to take part in this project, we hope to give individuals with a range of experiences, an opportunity to interact and share talking points.
Social isolation can result in a number of negative consequences for people including:
- Finding it hard to get jobs and sustain friendships and relationships
- Making it harder to recover from illness
- Impacts on self-esteem colouring the way in which an individual develops and interacts with the world
Through this project we aim to reduce people’s social isolation by mixing with other people in a safe social environment and in turn developing interpersonal skills and building self confidence through engaging with the drama workshops.
Who is this project for?
