Good Mood Football League
The Trust has its own football league for people who use our services – it is called the Good Mood Football League.
The league enables people with an interest in football of varying levels of ability and at different stages of the rehabilitation process to access the sport. Teams are made up of players who have all used mental health services.
Following the success of the Good Mood League in 2011/12, the 2013 project will increase the frequency of the activities offered to create a new league structure. Coaching and refereeing training will also be offered to allow service users to participate in a variety of ways along with playing in the games.
The Good Mood League is funded through Creative Minds and is supported by the Huddersfield Community Trust, West Riding County Football Association and has remained widely supported by community Mental Health Services. The League now has teams which travel to other similar leagues in other regions such as a league that runs in Manchester. More recently two for the teams are looking to work together to enter a European competition in 2013.
