COME AND BE INSPIRED

Date:

The South West Yorkshire Mental Health NHS Trust and DIVA are inviting the public to attend photography exhibitions taking place across Wakefield and Pontefract.

The exhibitions feature photographic work created as part of the Inspire project, by service users including those recovering from anxiety and depression. The work explores a variety of areas including opinions about mental health issues and targets the stigma surrounding mental health problems. Many of the pieces are accompanied by touching personal messages.

Corinne Silva, artist in resident said, ‘These exhibitions are a way of creating awareness around mental heath problems, we’ve had some great feedback so far. One of the exhibitions is taking place at Wakefield ArtsMill, it has been such a positive experience for everyone to have their work exhibited in an actual art gallery setting. The project has been rewarding for everybody involved, I’d encourage everybody to come along and have the look at the work, it is all really impressive.

All exhibitions are open to members of the public and entry is free of charge.
