TRUST’S THIRD ANNUAL CONFERENCE

South West Yorkshire Mental Health NHS Trust is holding its 3rd annual research and development workshop on Thursday 5th May 2005, to update people on the Trust’s new research findings. It will feature presentations from service users, carers, representatives from a range of services and partner organisations. The workshop will focus on the progress of one of the Trust’s key research programmes ‘Modernising Mental Health and Learning Disability Service Delivery and Organisation.’

Service user and carer groups will be giving presentations on • user involvement in research and evaluation • A welfare rights project • An employment project

Other presentations will include: • Health screening of people with learning disabilities • Pathways of care •

Alcohol abuse in the elderly •

The impact of Memory clinics

An exhibition of artwork produced by a service user will also be held throughout the day.

Virginia Minogue, Head of Research and Development manager says, ‘the workshop will provides us with an opportunity to share good practice and research findings with people who use our services and also with partners from other organisations.’
