Carers celebrate Christmas!

Date:

Members of the Trust’s carer’s mental health link dialogue group certainly celebrated the festive season in style this year, by holding a special Christmas party. There was party food and Christmas crackers and all the carers were in high spirits.

The icing on the Christmas cake though, was a visit paid by a very special guest, who popped by to drop off some Christmas gifts, much to the carers delight!

The group, which meets regularly at Fieldhead in Wakefield was set up by the Trust to give carers a voice and allow them to communicate their needs and get information about how they can access help and support. The party was held after one of the normal meetings and gave carers the chance to have a well earned break, relax and enjoy themselves.

Carer Susan Hill attended the Christmas party and said, ‘Not only have we celebrated Christmas, but all the positive things that have come out of the dialogue group too. The party was a real social event and great fun. It does us all good to get away from our caring duties for a while.’

PALS and public involvement development worker Lynn Fowley said, ‘The carers dialogue group is such a useful source of information for the Trust. Communicating with these very important people helps us tailor our services to meet the needs of the people we serve. The Christmas party was a great opportunity for us all to come together and take time out from all the hard work we have put into the group.’
