Halifax event offering an insight into mental health problems
A local NHS trust that provides specialist NHS services is inviting people in Calderdale to a series of free talks offering an insight into common mental health problems.
The education talks are being held by the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which provides mental health and learning disability services to people in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield, and are an opportunity for local people to find out more about mental health problems.
Led by Dr Booya, the Trust’s medical director, the events are an educational talk on a particular condition, followed by time for questions. The events are free and are open to anybody, so feel free to come along with friends, colleagues or family.
The first of the events is on bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, and it is being held at the Heath Training Centre in Halifax on Tuesday 16th November. However, the talk will also be given at future dates in Huddersfield, Batley and Wakefield. Events are planned right up until October 2011 with the second topic in the series being dementia.

All events begin with refreshments at 6.30pm and the talk will commence at 7pm. The event will end at 8pm.
