A local NHS trust that provides specialist NHS services is inviting local people to a series of free talks offering an insight into common mental health problems.
The education talks are being held by the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, which provides mental health and learning disability services to people in Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield, and are an opportunity for local people to find out more about mental health problems.
Led by Dr Booya, the Trust’s medical director, the events are an educational talk on a particular condition, followed by time for questions. The events are free and are open to anybody, so feel free to come along with friends, colleagues or family.
The first of the events is on bipolar disorder, also known as manic depression, and it is being held at Heath Training Centre in Halifax on Tuesday 16th November. However, the talk will also be given at future dates in Huddersfield, Batley and Wakefield. Events are planned right up until October 2011 with the second topic in the series being dementia.
If you’d like to attend the first talk on bipolar disorder you can come to whichever date or venue suits you best:
Tuesday 16th November; Heath Training Centre, Free School Lane, Halifax, HX1 2PT Tuesday 1st February 2011; Hudawi Centre, Great Northern Street, Huddersfield, HD1 6BG Tuesday 15th March 2011; Al Hikmah Centre, 28 Track Road, Batley, WF17 7AA Wednesday 27th April 2011; Elizabethan Gallery, 45 Brook Street, Wakefield, WF1 3AE
