Helping local pregnant women in Wakefield to kick the habit

Date:

For one week in December the Wakefield QUIT4U2 team will be visiting children’s centres across Wakefield and the Five Towns area to raise awareness of the help they can give to young pregnant women to stop smoking before their baby is born.

The team QUIT4U2 is a local, free NHS stop smoking service for pregnant women to support them to quit smoking and stay quit once their baby is born.

The team can help young women quit in their own time and provide advice and encouragement to stay smoke free as well as tips on how to cope with cravings and prescriptions for products to help stop smoking.

Between Monday 5th – Friday 9th December the QUIT4U2 team will be at:

Our friendly team will be on hand to answer any questions, offer carbon monoxide testing and hand out free quit kits to anyone that signs up to receive support from our service.

"Giving up smoking is the single most effective way you can improve your health, especially when you are pregnant and I would encourage young women to come along and find out how they could join the hundreds of women in Wakefield who have successfully quit smoking with our help and are enjoying the benefits."
