Gain an insight into psychosis at an education event in Halifax

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust which provides community, mental health and learning disability services in Calderdale is inviting people to a free talk to gain an insight into psychosis on Monday 9th July at Dean Clough.

The education talk is an opportunity for people to find out more about psychosis, a condition that affects a person’s mind and causes changes to the way that they think, feel and behave. The talks will be led by Dr Suresh Chari, Consultant Psychiatrist and Associate Medical Director (Mental Health).

The events are free and open to anybody including members of the public, carers and NHS staff.

There will be four talks on psychosis and people can choose to come to whichever date or venue suits them best.

• Monday 9th July 2012 5th floor, F Mill, Dean Clough, Halifax, HX3 5AX

• Monday 24th September Al-Hikmah centre, 28 Track road, Batley, WF17 7AA

• Monday 8th October St Swithun’s community centre, Arncliffe Road, Eastmoor, Wakefield, WF1 4RW

• Monday 12th November (led by Dr Mark Radcliffe) The Core, County Way, Barnsley, S70 2JW

All events begin with refreshments at 6.30pm and the talk will commence at 7pm with time for questions after. The event will end at 8.30pm.

Dr Suresh Chari said, "This informal event is open to anyone who would like to find out more about psychosis. The talk is designed to increase awareness and there will be opportunities to ask questions. Whether you know someone with the condition, care for someone with a psychotic illness or are interested in widening your awareness of this important mental health condition, we would warmly invite you to join us."
