Kirklees invited to get involved in the spirit of the London 2012 Games during July

Local people in Kirklees are invited to get active and get involved in 2012 by taking part in sporting tournaments throughout July, organised by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust in support of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

The sporting tournaments will be held at Dewsbury sports centre and will include a badminton, table tennis and archery tournament. All tournaments are open to people who use Trust services, their carers and staff.

The events will be held on: • Wednesday 4th July – Badminton tournament Dewsbury sports centre, 1pm – 4pm • Wednesday 11th July – Table tennis tournament Dewsbury sports centre, 1pm – 4pm • Wednesday 18th July – Archery tournament Dewsbury sports centre, 1pm – 4pm

Aboobaker Bhana, from the Trust’s equality and inclusion team said, "We have organised the sporting events in our efforts to bring the spirit of London 2012 to Kirklees, which we hope will give people the opportunity to try out something new and continue with it long after London 2012 has finished."

"Anyone who uses services provided by the Trust in Kirklees and their carers are welcome to come along to the sessions. We are also hoping that staff will take the opportunity to get involved as well."
