End of life care team celebrate award success
The Trust’s end of life care team has been recognised at Barnsley’s Adults and Communities Excellence Awards. The team were invited to attend the special ceremony where they picked up two awards for ‘Best Example of Community Support Resource’ and ‘Winner of Winners’. The team was also shortlisted as a finalist in the ‘Extra Mile Team’ award.
The end of life care team provides support and training to health and social care professionals in Barnsley and plan, develop and co-ordinate systems to ensure that service providers recognise and deliver high quality end of life care.
The Adults and Communities Excellence Awards, led by Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council, are designed to highlight the outstanding achievements of individuals and teams who have gone the extra mile. Nominations for the awards can be put forward by members of the public, service users, carers, family and colleagues.
Janet Owen, clinical lead for the end of life care team said, “We’re delighted to have received two awards for our work. We were thrilled to have been nominated in three of the categories and even more shocked to win two awards!
“It’s great to have been recognised for the service we provide as the nominations come from a range of people including members of the public, care home managers and workforce development.”
