People in and around Barnsley are invited to a special seaside themed Summer Party at Moorland Court, 33 Gawber Road, Barnsley on Wednesday 14th August hosted by the Live Arts Café.

The Live Arts Café is run by Action Space Mobile, a Barnsley-based community arts organisation, in partnership with the South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, the local provider of NHS community and mental health services.

Live Arts Café, which takes place every Wednesday, is a weekly cabaret style, social/creative evening for people who have experience of mental health issues and their friends and families. Attendees share a light supper and then enjoy entertainment and creative activities, in which people can participate at different levels; everyone is encouraged to participate in small ways and by becoming part of the audience.

The summer party will be an opportunity to showcase the talents of participants and offer a taster of what people can expect from the weekly Live Arts Café cabaret.

The party will run from 2pm till 6pm and guests will be able to enjoy live summer music, art, games, stalls and lots more holiday fun. The event is free for anyone, with just a £2 charge for a BBQ supper.

Live Arts Café is provided by Action Space Mobile, which is a creative partner of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and as a result is part of a growing infrastructure of community organisations who are working with the Trust to provide creative projects to local people. As part of Creative Minds the Trust aims to support voluntary and community organisations, like Hoot, to deliver a variety of creative projects to help improve the health and wellbeing of local people.
