People in and around Barnsley rolled up to a special seaside themed Summer Party at Moorland Court hosted by the Live Arts Café.

The Live Arts Café is run by Action Space Mobile, a Barnsley-based community arts organisation, and is a creative partner of the Trust.  Live Arts Café, which takes place every Wednesday, is a weekly cabaret style, social/creative evening for people who have experience of mental health issues and their friends and families. Attendees share a light supper and then enjoy entertainment and creative activities, in which people can participate at different levels; everyone is encouraged to participate in small ways and by becoming part of the audience.

The summer party was an opportunity to showcase the talents of participants and offer a taster of what people can expect from the weekly Live Arts Café cabaret. The crowds were joined by Yorkshire Life Aquatic, a dry land synchronised swimming team. Rather than bobbing along on the bottom of the briny sea, Yorkshire Life Aquatic got people out of their deck chairs and bobbing along on land.
