Invitation to Trust’s annual meeting
Local people are invited to attend ‘Spotlight’ – South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust’s annual members’ meeting on Monday 21 October at the Lawrence Batley Theatre, Queen Street, Huddersfield.
As a foundation trust, the organisation is accountable to its membership which is made up of nearly 16,000 local people. The Spotlight event will start with a showcase of the Trust’s work from 11am, with the annual members’ meeting beginning at 12noon.
The Trust, which provides a range of community, mental health and learning disability services to the people of Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield, will showcase achievements in 2012/13 as well as discussing plans for 2013/14.
The event will shine a light on the work undertaken to support local people as well as innovative approaches, such as Creative Minds. An update will be given on plans to transform services and the Trust’s financial performance over the previous year will also take centre stage.
There will be an opportunity for people to get more involved in the work of their local NHS and there will be a special performance from Hoot; an organisation that offers opportunities for people to get involved in creative activities as a way of improving physical and emotional wellbeing.
Ian Black, Chairman of the Trust said, “Our annual members’ meeting provides an opportunity to look back at the achievements from the previous year, and look forward to the plans we have in place for the future, including the work to transform our services.
“We are proud to have a membership of nearly 16,000 people who reflect the views of the communities we serve. We also work closely with our Members’ Council, who bring valuable insight and influence to the way we work. The event will give people the opportunity to meet representatives from our Members’ Council and to join the Trust as a member.
