Wakefield people asked to share their views with NHS health & wellbeing team

Date:

The Wakefield NHS health and wellbeing development team want local people to help them shape future services.

The team, which is part of South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, are holding two focus groups on:

• Monday 13th January 2014, 1-3pm, Training room, Castleford, Normanton & District Hospital

• Monday 20th January 2014, 1-3pm, Featherstone Room, Wakefield One

Places can be booked by calling 01977 705473.

The team promote health and wellbeing in older adults and adults with a physical and/ or sensory impairment. Through health promotion, education and a wide range of preventative activities, they support people to reach their potential and live well in their community.

As well as the focus groups, from November 2013 to January 2014 the team will visit groups they currently work with, as well as asking members of the public to share their views about the social groups, activities and support they would like to help them maintain their independence and lead a healthy life.

Laura Ford, health and wellbeing development worker explained, “We are gathering feedback to inform our work plans for the coming year. We want to ensure that the services we provide are meeting individuals’ needs, and identify any unmet needs that we can tackle in the future.

“The feedback gathered and our analysis will enable us to maximise older adults independence in Wakefield and improve the health and wellbeing of our 50+ population.”
