The NHS stop smoking service in Sheffield, Yorkshire Smokefree, has teamed up with the city’s sporting teams to encourage local people to quit smoking.

Yorkshire Smokefree are offering local people who attempt to quit smoking for at least four weeks the chance to win free tickets to a Sheffield United, Sheffield Wednesday or a Sheffield Steelers game.

Those who attempt to quit in the next few weeks will be entered into a prize draw where match tickets and other prizes including signed shirts will be up for grabs.

Yorkshire Smokefree, which is run by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, makes it easy for smokers to kick the habit with its range of support which smokers can ‘pick and mix’ to suit their lifestyles.

Tailored support means that you can find a way of quitting that suits you. Expert advisors offer online support 24/7, friendly advisors are available on the phone seven days a week and face to face support is available at Yorkshire Smokefree Sheffield’s city centre quit shop.

Claire Holden, service manager at Yorkshire Smokefree Sheffield said, “This is a great way to reward those who have taken that difficult first step towards quitting smoking. Once you have taken that first step we can help you quit for good.

“Giving up smoking benefits your life in so many ways – from improving your health to leaving you with a bit of extra cash each month to do the things you enjoy. If you’ve been thinking about quitting for a while, or have been struggling to quit, just get in touch with us and we’ll help you quit for good.”
