Local people in Barnsley invited to help NHS Trust take ‘next steps’

Date:

Local people are being invited to an event to discuss the future of adult community mental health services in Barnsley provided by mental health, learning disability, wellbeing and community service provider South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The ‘Next steps’ event will take place on Tuesday 24 March from 10am – 1pm at The Civic, Barnsley. Lunch will be provided.

At a series of events last year, the Trust listened to ideas from local people on how they would like to see services delivered and transformed in their area.

People who use the Trust’s services, their carers, partner organisations and the public are being invited to the upcoming event to discuss how the Trust has put the ideas and suggestions given into practice, and to help the organisation plan the next steps for the future.

Trust chief executive Steven Michael said: “In order for our Trust to deliver the best possible service, we have to listen to what is important to the people who matter most. By gathering opinions and ideas from local people we can ensure we are providing a service that truly meets the needs of the local community.

“We really value the feedback we receive at these events, so I would encourage anyone to come along, have their say, and influence the way our services are delivered.”

To book a place at the event, email membership@swyt.nhs.uk or call 01924 327567. Find out more about the Trust and its services at www.southwestyorkshire.nhs.uk.
