No more if’s or butts on No Smoking Day in Rotherham

Date:

Smokers across Rotherham are being urged to take the first step towards quitting smoking for good on national No Smoking Day on Wednesday 11 March.

Yorkshire Smokefree, which is run by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust offers free stop smoking advice and support to people across the region. They are calling on smokers to get in touch and make 11 March the day you quit for good.

To mark the day expert advisors from Yorkshire Smokefree will be spending the day at the new Tesco store in Rotherham town centre to talk about the range of free stop smoking advice on offer and encourage people to pledge to quit on No Smoking Day.

The team will be manning a stall in the store from 10am to 4pm offering advice and information on how to quit smoking. Information will also be made available at GP practices across the Rotherham area.

Simon Lister, service manager at Yorkshire Smokefree Rotherham said, “We’re really looking forward to speaking to lots of people, spreading the word about No Smoking Day and encouraging people to pledge to make it their day to quit.

“We can help you quit in a way that suits your individual needs, whether that’s online, over the phone or face to face – most of our clients are also eligible for free nicotine replacement products.

“With support from our expert NHS advisors you’re four times more likely to quit successfully and best of all our support is free!”

Yorkshire Smokefree offers smokers the choice of telephone, face to face and online advice using a new online support programme. Smokers can now access expert support 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
