Shaping the charitable work of the NHS

Date:

Charitable Funds, our in-house charity, is seeking ideas on how it can make even more of an impact in the future.

The charity is gathering views on its work by holding a number of listening events across the region.

Funding is provided by the charity for activities and resources which wouldn’t normally be paid for by the NHS across Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield. For example, the charity might fund extras for wards, such as games and activities, equipment for visiting rooms, or resources for sports and creative activities.

Trust Chairman Ian Black said: “Charitable Funds enables the Trust to support many projects big and small. It could be something straight forward such as badminton or art equipment, but they have massive impacts for service users and can have a positive effect on their lives. We’re continually working to improve this important work and want to ask our communities for their ideas on how to do this.
