Dementia Friendly Lindley event taking place on 21 January

Date:

Did you know it is estimated that there are over 5,000 people living with dementia in Kirklees?

South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is working with the Kirklees Dementia Action Alliance (KDAA) and other partners by holding an event to raise awareness of dementia in the Lindley community, helping to make Lindley a Dementia Friendly Community.

People with dementia and their carers talk about the everyday challenges they face living with dementia.  We can all help by making simple, small changes and helping to create a Dementia Friendly Lindley.

We have a number of activities and events including a market place, children’s craft activities, local displays of ‘yester-year’, Dementia Friends, West Yorkshire Fire service, a dementia masterclass, a sensory walk, drop-in memory advice clinics and much more. At the event the whole family can learn a little bit more about the condition which currently affects over 850,000 people in the UK.

There is a full day of activity planned, with activities for all the family taking place throughout Lindley. We look forward to seeing you there.

More information and a full list of the events taking place can be found in this timetable of activities
