Mental health nurses share knowledge with students

This week two staff nurses from our Trinity 1 ward at Fieldhead Hospital gave a talk to trainee mental health nurses studying at Leeds Beckett University.

Jodie Hudson and Steph Gibson went into speak with the second year students about their role in the PICU.

Students were presented with a case study and had the opportunity to ask Jodie and Steph questions.

Jodie said: “It’s great to share our knowledge with the next generation of mental health nurses. The visit went very well and we felt it was really positive.”

Trinity 1 is a psychiatric intensive care unit and provides inpatient care for people who are in crisis who cannot live safely in their home environment. The team were ‘winner of winners’ in last year’s staff Excellence awards for their ‘My mental health’ project which helps co-create care plans and has reduced incidents on the ward.
