We pilot app project to help mental health of young people

Date:

We’re helping children and young people find the most appropriate apps to support their mental health by piloting the use of ORCHA – the Organisation for the Review of Care and Health Applications – a platform that independently and impartially reviews health and care related apps.

ORCHA publish recommendations so that service users and clinical staff know which are well evidenced and effective, so they are empowered to make informed choices to aid in their treatment and recovery.

The Trust is one of a select group of NHS organisations who are working in partnership with ORCHA to pilot the web platform.

Carol Harris, director of forensic, specialist, Calderdale and Kirklees services, said: “We use apps for everything these days and they are such an important part of modern-day life. It’s great that we are piloting the use of technology to complement our care and help us to improve with the support of national experts.”

The platform will be used to support service users of the Trust’s Calderdale and Kirklees child and adolescent mental health service (CAMHS). Find out more about the platform at https://swyft.orcha.co.uk/
