Our chief executive named as top leader
Our chief executive has been named as one of the Health Service Journal (HSJ)’s top ten chief executives.
Rob Webster, who joined the Trust in May 2016, was placed at number 6 in the HSJ’s ranking of all 249 provider Trust chief executives. He received praise for his “unbending commitment to system working and the personal example he sets in his leadership style.”
Rob has worked in healthcare since 1990, including national roles at the Department of Health and NHS Confederation. He also spent several years as a successful chief executive in the NHS in West Yorkshire before joining the Trust.
As well as leading the Trust, Rob is leading the work of the West Yorkshire and Harrogate Health and Care Partnership (formerly the sustainability and transformation partnership or STP). This is bringing together health and care leaders, organisations and communities to develop and deliver high quality and sustainable health and care services into the future for the 2.6 million people living across the area.
Under Rob’s leadership, in April 2017 the Trust was re-rated by the Care Quality Commission from ‘requires improvement’ to ‘good’.
Trust chair Angela Monaghan said: “It was great to see recognition for Rob’s outstanding leadership at the Trust and with the STP. Rob is a values-led leader and he demonstrates those values every day through his honest and open approach, his commitment to the wellbeing of every member of staff, his determination to improve and be outstanding and in the way he puts service users and carers first and in the centre, always.”
