We recruit two new non-executive directors

Two new non-executive directors have joined our board.

Sam Young and Erfana Mahmood took up the posts on 6 August. Non-executive directors are local people whose wide range of experience and skills contribute to the effective management and accountability of the Trust.

Sam Young

Sam runs her own consultancy business with a focus on technology and transformation. Previously she has worked in the housing, local authority and IT sectors in a number of senior roles.

She said: “Mental health and learning disability services are such an important part of our local communities and I want to see these services go from strength to strength. The Trust has strong values and a strong vision for where it wants to be and I am looking forward to working with the team, the rest of the board and our members to make sure we achieve it.”

Currently Sam is also a non-executive director at Great Places Housing Group.

Erfana is a corporate property lawyer working for a number of large organisations in the financial sector. She has just finished her two terms of office as a non-executive director at Yorkshire Ambulance Service, including a period as the senior independent director.

She said: “I wanted to take up the role as the work of the Trust is of huge interest to me and I am already familiar with its geography. I also have experience working within the NHS which I felt would be beneficial. I’m looking forward to using my experience and skills in helping the Trust to support local communities.”

Erfana has experience in the housing sector and is a non-executive on Chorley and District Building Society and Plexus/Omega Housing.

Angela Monaghan, Trust chair, said: “I’m delighted to welcome Sam and Erfana to our Trust Board. I’m confident that we have made two great appointments who will support and guide us in achieving our mission and vision in line with our values.”
