Royal College of Psychiatrists accreditation for ADHD and Autism service

Our adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and Autism service has received the prestigious ACOMHS accreditation awarded by the Royal College of Psychiatrists.

Achieving the standard means that the service carries out timely assessment and treatment which is focussed on individual needs and recovery goals. It also means that the service that is person-centred and takes into account service users’ unique and changing personal, psychosocial and physical needs.

Professor Marios Adamou, Consultant Psychiatrist, said: “ADHD and Autism are neurodevelopmental conditions than can affect children and well as adults and good quality services in the UK are not always available”.

“We are delighted with this accreditation which assures staff, service users and carers, commissioners and regulators of the quality of the service provided.”

The team is the only one working with adult neurodevelopmental disorders ever to receive the accreditation. There is only one more community mental health team in the whole of Yorkshire with this accreditation.
