Yorkshire Smokefree’s new way to quit is national hit

Date:

The Trust’s stop smoking service, Yorkshire Smokefree, has been awarded ‘Best poster presentation’ at a national conference.

The service presented the poster at the Smoking Cessation and Health Conference UK on their move from paper vouchers for stop smoking medication to more efficient e-vouchers.

E-vouchers enable people looking to quit smoking to have a code sent directly to their phone which they can then take to a local pharmacy to receive their stop smoking medication.

This new process has saved over 29,000 paper vouchers from being printed and distributed each year.
The Smoking Cessation and Health Conference UK is a national event for professionals working in stop smoking services in the UK. It focuses on how to reduce the burden of smoking related death and disease for all sections of the population.

Yorkshire Smokefree has helped thousands of people across the region to quit smoking through their online, telephone and face to face (Covid-19 permitting) support. To quit your way, visit www.yorkshiresmokefree.nhs.uk
