Date:

To mark the Hindu festival of Diwali, psychiatrist Dr Pawan Gupta worked with the Trust’s catering staff to host a special menu in our Fieldhead restaurant to celebrate the festival of lights. She shares her story.

“I was born in Ajmer in India. I was educated there and worked in various places before coming to the UK.

“One of my passions is helping other people, especially women, who are in difficult circumstances. I like to motivate people to feel positive and make progress.

“I think equality and diversity helps organisations with approaching things in different ways, and helps people to see things from a different perspective. I believe that everyone should have equal rights in practice, not just in numbers, figures and survey results.

“I’m pleased that the Trust is celebrating Diwali. It’s important to learn how we can respect the culture and customs of others.”
