Trust accredited for its future-focused finance

The Trust has been awarded Future-Focused Finance Towards Excellence Accreditation level 2.

The One NHS Finance Towards Excellence Accreditation process recognises organisations that have a thriving financial skills development culture and good practices in place.

There are three levels designed to reflect the continuous development of finance departments and to celebrate a high standard of financial competence.

The Trust was awarded level 1 in 2018 and over the last 12 months has been working towards Level 2. This involved demonstrating that the finance team and their work met a set of performance standards.

The evidence was peer reviewed and the assessors met with finance and non-finance colleagues to hear their views.

Louise King, head of financial planning and development, said: “Lots of hard work has gone into achieving this over the last year and I’d like to thank the team for their efforts in gathering the evidence, engaging with One NHS Finance and meeting the assessors.

“This is great recognition for all the work that we often think is just our day jobs but helps deliver the Trust objectives of improving resources and spending money wisely.

“This is very much a journey and we will continue to improve as we develop the skills of the team and the organisation.”
