Dawn Lawson has joined the Trust as our new executive director of strategy and change as she takes on a challenging trek in Nepal to raise funds for EyUp!, the Trust’s charity.

Dawn began her career working with people with learning disabilities in the NHS and in the third sector. Since then, her varied career has seen her hold a number of senior and executive level positions across the NHS, most recently as a strategy advisor at Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust. Dawn is a collaborative leader who has experience of leading in complex systems, delivering impact through partnerships.

In her role, Dawn will oversee the ongoing development of the Trust’s organisational strategy, linked to our mission and values. She will also champion innovation processes which support safe, effective, and caring services. Dawn has a strong commitment to, and personal belief in, the importance of research and innovation to healthcare services and has a track record of implementing improvement and innovation that leads to tangible change for patients.

Dawn is already supporting the work of the Trust’s charity, EyUp!, as she is aiming to complete a challenging trek in the Everest region to raise funds. The Everest Base Camp Trek via Gokyo Lakes takes over two weeks to complete and is around 135 kilometres long.

Funds raised by Dawn will go towards supporting the Trust’s service users by providing additional resources and activities above and beyond NHS funding.

Dawn said: “I am absolutely delighted to be taking up this role at the Trust as it’s a great values-based organisation. I want to continue to ensure effective processes are in place to encourage and support innovation across all levels of the Trust to improve care.”
