Staff member’s sporty son set to sprint at Paris Olympics

Date:

Barnsley staff member Stuart Hinchliffe’s sporting son is on his marks and set to compete at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Louie Hinchliffe, 22, will represent Great Britain in the Men’s 100m and the Men’s 4 x 100m Relay, which both take place at the Stade de France.

His dad Stuart, a former football player who now works in the Trust’s paediatric audiology team, encouraged Louie to pursue athletics and golf from a young age. In the run up to the Olympics, Louie has been training with nine-time Olympic champion Carl Lewis in Houston, Texas.

This is Louie’s first appearance at an Olympic games, where he’ll be facing well known names in the sport including British track star Zharnel Hughes and 200m Olympic medallist Noah Lyles of the USA.

Catch Louie (if you can! 🏃‍♂️) in his races from Saturday 3 August.
