Local students invited to NHS careers fair

Students over the age of 15 across Barnsley, Calderdale, Kirklees and Wakefield, are invited to find out about getting started in an allied health professional career at an event on Tuesday 3 December, 4-7.30pm.

The event is being hosted by South West Yorkshire Partnership Teaching NHS Foundation Trust who offer allied health professional careers in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech and language therapy, dietetics, podiatry, and arts therapies.

The event will include why people should consider working in a career in community services, mental health, children’s services, and learning disabilities. It will also help students explore the types of roles that are available, and the qualifications and experience they may need, including work experience and apprenticeships.

Students can also meet allied health professionals from across the Trust, ask any questions, and find out what is involved in the role day to day.

Teachers, carers and parents are also welcome to attend. Students under the age of 18 will need to be accompanied by an adult.
