Celebrating Carers Rights Day – 20 November

Date:

We’re marking Carers Rights Day on Thursday 20 November with a range of activities that reflect this year’s theme: “Know your rights, use your rights.”Carers Rights Day logo

We’ll be hosting a virtual event to celebrate and showcase the voices, experiences, and contributions of carers across our Trust and partner organisations. Highlights will include:

  • Launch of our newly reviewed commitment to carers (reviewed every 5 years)
  • Our newly reviewed family, friends and carers commitment, along with an accompanying ‘you said, we did’ document. These documents reflect the voices and experiences of carers and have been shaped through extensive engagement with carers, our partners, and forums.
  • Updates on our Triangle of Care journey
  • Voices of young carers and the development of their co-produced pathway
  • Preview of our staff carers awareness e-learning module
  • Partner showcases and carer-led stories

We’re also holding an event in our caring garden at Fieldhead, where carers can come together for lunch, connection, and reflection in a supportive space.

To support further activity, we’re offering up to £250 to staff and partners who would like to deliver a therapeutic activity or event for carers around the day. We ask that those accessing the fund either provide feedback or join our event to share what was delivered. Contact carers lead Gillian Cowell for information.

Gillian said: “Carers Rights Day is an important part of our ongoing commitment to recognising and supporting carers across our organisation. We’re looking forward to coming together to celebrate, reflect, and empower carers to know and use their rights.”
