We appoint our new chair

A headshot of our chair, Jayne Brown OBE.We are delighted that Jayne Brown OBE has been appointed as our new chair.

Jayne is an experienced chief executive and board chair with more than 20 years of experience in the health sector, having previously worked in both the public and private sectors. Jayne has a strong reputation for delivery, combined with strategic thinking and a passion for quality.

Jayne has previously been chief executive of NHS North Yorkshire and York, and chair of Sheffield Health Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. She has extensive experience in local government and the wider health sector, including non-executive roles with St Leger Homes in Doncaster and the Christie Hospital NHS Foundation Trust in Manchester. Prior to this she held a range of CEO roles, primarily working in South Yorkshire and North Yorkshire across primary, secondary and ambulance services. Jayne is also a qualified coach, working with NHS boards and chief executives on their development.

Jayne said: “I am delighted to be joining the Trust and look forward to working with colleagues to help the people and communities we serve to reach their full potential. I am passionate about public services and person-centred care, and have a keen interest in equality and diversity and reducing health inequalities. I believe strongly in involving service users and carers in how we deliver their care, how we design services and how we monitor and evaluate. I am delighted to be joining the Trust to support and continue their ongoing journey of improvement.”

Mark Brooks, Trust chief executive, said: “Jayne is an exceptional leader with a proven track record of working across a number of different sectors, including with health service providers like us. Jayne has a strong sense of personal values which closely match our Trust values, and I am looking forward to welcoming her to our Trust Board as our new chair.”

Jayne is expected to join the Trust on 8 June.
