Celebrating our Estates & Facilities colleagues

National Healthcare Estates & Facilities Day 2026 is being held on Wednesday 17 June and we’d like to take this opportunity to say thank you to our estates and facilities colleagues for everything you do!
This year marks the fifth anniversary of the awareness day that celebrates the essential work of all staff involved with the provision of estates and facilities services in healthcare.
From ensuring a safe, clean environment to maintaining critical infrastructure and utilities, our services lay the foundation upon which quality care is built from patient dining, cleaning, security, portering, waste management, energy efficiency, estates management and more.
It’s also an opportunity to recognise the hard work, dedication and vital role of our estates and facilities colleagues within the Trust. From keeping our buildings running smoothly, to ensuring safe, clean, and welcoming environments for patients and staff — your contributions is essential to our organisation.
Launched in 2022, the day is now celebrated annually, with almost 600 healthcare organisations from all over the UK registering to support the day – representing an amazing 251,000 estates and facilities staff.
This initiative has been met with widespread approval and support from the NHS national bodies, colleagues throughout NHS hospital Trusts and Health Boards, commercial providers and supply chain partners.
To celebrate and say thank you to our excellent Estates and Facilities, colleagues on the day can:
- Enjoy coffee and cake from 9am at the staff restaurant/dining room at Kendray, Cheswold Park and Fieldhead Hospitals
- Take a selfie with a bespoke Estates and Facilities photo frame
- Be in with a chance of winning fantastic raffle prizes, to be drawn by Nick Phillips, Deputy Director, Estates and Facilities. Thank you to all colleagues, contractors and suppliers who have donated prizes and gifts for the raffle.
