Art for wellbeing

Artwork for wellbeing South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust

The Artworks is running a series of free art for wellbeing sessions in drawing and textiles for people with lived experience of mental ill health. Suitable for all ages and abilities, this programme is designed to improve participants’ confidence and sense of wellbeing by learning new skills and discovering hidden talents. At the end of the programme, participants will have the opportunity to showcase their work in an exhibition at the 1830 Gallery.

Drawing for wellbeing
Designed for all levels: you will learn ways of expressing your observations using tone, line and texture. Understand what analytical, expressive, and observation drawing is. Gain a contextual understanding through practical assignments and gain an increased sense of confidence and wellbeing.

Textiles for wellbeing
This course aims to explore textiles as a form of respite, allowing participants to explore art and textiles in combination in order to help their own health and wellbeing. They will learn a variety of textile skills combined with traditional art processes which will contribute to the development of their own creativity
