Shall we dance is a ballroom and Latin dance project aimed at getting adults and older people to live a more fulfilled active lifestyle through dance. The project encourages people to come together and learn dances such as the waltz, quickstep and jive.
To ensure sustainability of the project, group members can train as volunteers to increase community ownership of the project. To support participants and tutors, part of the project is going to involve the production of a DVD where service users can take part and offer their skills in the production and development of the resource. The DVD will include footage of participants from the project to show that anyone can take part. The resource will help future trainers and participants to remember the steps and will also give people the option of taking up dancing in their own environment.
